Description

What is a MicroMouse?

A MicroMouse is an autonomous solver robot designed to navigate through an unknown maze, map its pathways using intelligent algorithms (like Floodfill or Dijkstra), and reach the center in the fastest time possible. It is one of the most prestigious technical robotics competitions worldwide, testing precise motor control, sensor integration, and real-time path planning.

Key Features

  • PID Controlled Movement: High-precision maze navigation with fully tunable PID constants, cell dimensions, maze grid size, turn ticks, and operational speed.
  • Developer Friendly: Purpose-built for tuning—allows students and engineers to calibrate PID parameters according to their controller characteristics.
  • Autonomous Center Detection: Automatically senses when it reaches the maze center and halts movement with a visual Blue LED indication.
  • Single-Button Start Run: Features an integrated KEY button on the microcontroller to trigger the maze-solving run instantly.
  • Smart Orientation Start Strategy: No code modification needed for different starting corners! The bot defaults to the bottom-right corner facing North. To start from another corner, simply re-orient the bot before pressing start (e.g., place at bottom-left facing East).
  • High-Precision Sensing: Equipped with 3 Time-of-Flight (ToF) distance sensors capable of measuring up to 2 meters with an accuracy within ±3%.
  • Regulated Power Delivery: Onboard 5V buck converter ensures optimal voltage regulation and protects the MCU from voltage spikes.

Hardware Specifications

  • Microcontroller: STM32 Black-Pill (STM32F411CEU6) running at 100MHz clock frequency.
  • Sensors: 3x Time-of-Flight (ToF) Sensors (up to 2m range, ±3% tolerance).
  • Motor Driver: TB6612FNG Dual MOSFET Motor Driver.
  • Motors: 2x Encoded N20 Motors (200 RPM) + 2x Non-Encoded N20 Motors (200 RPM).
  • Power Management: Integrated 5V Buck Converter & 3-pin ON/OFF power switch circuit.
